A Message from Ruth
As many of you know, I have been looking for a new job during this, my final year of curacy.
I’m delighted to let you all know that I have been appointed to the post of Incumbent of the Benefice of Holy Trinity Ward End with particular responsibility for Christ Church with St Margaret’s in Birmingham.
This parish couldn’t really be more different from Harrogate- it’s in a multi-cultural, inner city part of Birmingham with high levels of deprivation. It’s true that it’s quite a relief to have secured a post, but it’s so much more than that- I really do have a strong sense that this is the post God is calling me to, and I feel both excited and daunted by the challenges- which will be many!
Thank you all so much for your support throughout my curacy, but particularly in this last year- I have been upheld by your concern, encouragement and prayers. I’m not sure yet when I am going to be leaving, but I’ll keep you posted.
A supporting message from Simon
It has been a real privilege to work with Ruth over these past 4 years, and we will miss her greatly, but the time is very much right for her to move on and become an incumbent, and the Holy Trinity Ward End benefice are blessed to be getting a fantastic priest and leader. I'm sure you will join with me in praying for Ruth and Guy and the family as they prepare to make this move in the strangest of circumstances! It goes without saying that we want to give her a proper farewell, and we will try our best to do this whether or not we are still in lockdown. Thank you, Ruth!
